About Kenneth Fach

I have always been profoundly interested in the Spanish language, its music and hispanic cultures.

That interest originated during my early years, in southern California, where I heard Spanish radio, and visited local Mexican style festivals. At the age of 10, we moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where I befriended native Spanish speaking children, and played, explored canyons, mountain trails, and ate together. During my middle school, and high school years, in Milton, Florida, I formally studied Spanish, and was a top student in my classes. I decided to go on to the University of West Florida, and major in Spanish. After that, I taught Spanish, and lived in Paraguay and Mexico for over three years. Then, after some years in the business world, including teaching more, I finally went on to graduate school at Florida State University, and earned a master’s degree in Spanish Language and Linguistics. Since then, I have been tutoring students and using Spanish in professional settings: social services, call centers, sales, and teaching.

My big passion is tutoring people who want to learn, improve or practice Spanish. I currently tutor in Tallahassee, Florida.

My other passions include, organic gardening, blogging, meeting people from other cultures, and metaphysics.

    Dear Kenneth Fach,
I live in South Texas. However, my son, daughter-in-law, and two grandsons (age 3 and two weeks) live in St. Mark’s. They are thinking of moving to Crawfordville.
I am thinking about moving to either Crawfordville or Tallahassee. However, I have many questions and concerns. I have looked at some houses in Wakulla County, but I have not found any that I liked, or the ones I like are too expensive.
It seems that real estate is much more expensive here than in Texas. I can buy a really nice house in San Antonio for $67 a square foot. However, my family lives in Florida.
    Any thoughts? Thanks.
    Bobbye

    Dear Kenneth,

I currently live in Spain, and I was just wondering at how popular spanish is in the US or at least in your area.

The few US citizens I have met here seem to have a decent level of spanish. Is it a popular second language or is it due to the influx of immigrants from latin america?

    Regards
    Andrew

There are always more people speaking Spanish here. More school are offering it, and at lower grades. I strongly believe that little children should have Spanish instruction.
